when things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you’re trudging seems all-uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit-
rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
life is queer with its twists and turns,
as everyone of us sometimes learn,
and many a fellow turns about,
when he might have won had he stuck it out,
don’t give up though the pace seems slow-
you may succeed with another blow.
often the goal is nearer than,
it seems to a faint and faltering man;
often the struggler has give up,
when he might have captured the victor’s up;
and he learned too late when night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.
success is failure turned inside-out,
the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and you never know how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar,
so stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
it’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.

Bak kata Thomas Edison pulak:
“Many of life’s failures are those people who didn’t realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
“Janganlah engkau berputus asa kerana putus asa bukanlah akhlak seorang Muslim. Ketahuilah bahawa kenyataan hari ini adalah mimpi hari kelmarin dan impian hari ini adalah kenyataan hari esok” (Imam Hassan Al-Banna)
Rasulullah bersabda:
“Sesiapa yang menuntut ilmu, yang sepatutnya dia belajar kerana Allah, tetapi dia belajar kerana mengharapkan ganjaran dunia, maka dia tidak akan mencium bau syurga” (H.R. Tirmizi)
P/S: Actually, buku tu aku pinjam ngan kawan aku. Some sorts of motivation but still aku tak abeh pon baca. Reduced penetrance sure did occur:) But Ken used to refer to his Bible a lots. So, kena filter bebaik lah dulu.
